This is a GREAT needlework stand!
The ONLY disadvantage we saw was that the stand sits in
front of you and the leg may have to go under your chair. This eliminates use 1) in
a recliner with the foot rest extended or 2) while sitting in a chair that goes completely
down to the floor in the front so you cannot insert the front leg of the stand under the
chair (Note: the front leg of the stand isn't very thick so it can slip under most
furniture).
But we have also found we could
usually place the stand off to the side a little and, unless we are working on a small
piece, happily stitch away in a recliner with the feet extended!
But, this disadvantage is overwhelmed by all the good
features.
1. The stand is extremely light and folds
compactly. This means you can easily put it in your luggage or carry it around to a
friend's house, a class, etc.
2. Without a great deal of effort, you can take your piece off the stand when
you finish stitching at night, collapse the stand, and stick it all in a closet.
This means that it does not have to become a permanent fixture in your living room unless that is
what you want.
3. Things don't slip
and/or loosen. When you lock in the angle of the head, etc., it stays
there...period. As you rotate your piece (be it mounted on stretcher bars, Q-Snaps
or scroll frames) to tie off on the back side, the frame does not loosen or tighten up.
That is, you don't have to keep adjusting the tension on knobs (or handles) as you
rotate your piece.
4. The stand is guaranteed for life for defects in materials or workmanship.
5. Other stitchers will be drawn to the high tech look
of the stand and will be impressed by the features. This is an exciting stand
because it is so different.
6. The table clamp is marvelous. Stitchers'
Paradise has found that many table clamps don't work on many tables due to the construction of
the tables. Most table clamps can't clamp onto the lip of the table, onto the
support member itself, or behind the support member. The System 4 table clamp is
deep (3.25") and long enough to go under and behind the support member on most tables. |
